Headlining the Miles Davis Jazz Festival, the Phil Dunlap Nonet pays tribute to the great Miles Davis and is work with with Gil Evans, John Lewis, and Gerry Mulligan. Originally recorded in 1949, the works composed for this ensemble (which includes tuba and french horn) were later released as the legendary album, Birth of the Cool.
